Anniethology on the Oscars

I can barely commit the energy to type this post. That was the most painfully boring and uninspiring award show I have ever seen. Jon Stewart couldn't have been more un-funny if he brought his own studio audience. He's nothing without is desk and pencil. I never thought I would say this, "WE WANT ELLEN! WE WANT ELLEN!"

My pick for Best Dressed is Anne Hathaway. She very rarely gets it wrong. It was the year of the ponytail. Beware, though, ladies the formal ponytail can be a hard look to pull off without looking like a schlumpahdinka. The formal pony actually takes a lot of time, deliberate hair placement, and hairspray.

And, who keeps inviting Cameron Diaz to these things? Was she even in a movie this year, besides Shrek 6.0?
Update: Since Melissa was kind enough to ask. I will share with you my pick for "Worst Dressed". This was a no brainer, nobody else came close. It was Tilda Swenton. She looked like she was wearing a Hefty bag. She looked better as the White Witch in Narnia. Despite looking like she just rolled out of the landfill, she won an Oscar for her role in Michael Clayton.

  2. I agree with you on Anne Hathaway. I couldn't even sit to watch it though... I had to be doing things around the house... just not that interesting I guess.

  3. I TiVoed it and the FF and it was still boring :P And why did Milley get to be there?

Anyway, I kept thinking "Hmm, I wonder what Annie thinks of her dress?"

  5. Amen, Ditto, and Hear! Hear! Granted, the writers only had a week to come up with something, but c'mon people! (Although The Rock's comment about the melting face scene from Raiders rang very true and got a chuckle from me).

  10. Tilda Swinton is pregnant, I think, which may explain her hefty, Hefty look.

I watched a few minutes of the Baba interview with Harrison Ford and got so disturbed we turned off TV for the night. Harrison Ford, dumps two different wives along with his kids and now goes on and on about his happiness shacking up with Calista and raising HER kid. Between that and his stupid earring, it made me want to gag.

  11. Why is it that Cameron Diaz can never be bothered to wash her hair? It looked like she was doing the walk of shame to the Oscars.

Loved all the red, and my pick for most fantastic was Katharine Heigl. Loved the Marilyn do.

I agree with you elasticwaistbandlady...Harrison Ford is a grumbly dude. And I feel embarassed for Baba every time I see her. And all I can hear is Cheri Oteri and Gilda doing the SNL impersonation.

  12. We had a family party that night so I forgot about the oscars. Apparently I didn't miss much. I love Anne Hathaway, she looks way beauty.

I loved Harrison Ford until he hooked up with Calista..then I lost all respect for him.
