Good Mail Housekeeping

Update: Thanks everyone! We have now reached our mark of 50 members! Woohoo! I will now be closing the Good Mail Girls blog to new members. Don't be sad! Thoughtfulness begets thoughtfulness. Start your very own Good Mail list.

I can't believe that we have been going for only two months. There has been so much giving and receiving already. I have really enjoyed getting to know all of you through the mail. I have loved and appreciated everything I have received. I have really enjoyed visiting all of your blogs and seeing what you have sent each other. I think we have achieved the mission of Good Mail, to keep thoughtfulness alive through the mail!

Thoughtfulness begets thoughtfulness and for that reason we have grown really fast over the last two months. I have decided to close the blog to new members at 50 members. If you have any family members or friends who are interested in joining, encourage them to do it soon. Also, there is no end to thoughtfulness and I don't own the corner on Good Mail. I think it is great to see ladies branch out and start their own Good Mail groups too.

Thank you all again. I can't even tell you how happy I am to open my mailbox and find a little something for me. It always makes my day. You ladies are the best.

Happy Blogging and Happy Good Mail!

  12. OK.... what excactly is the good mail club? I am worried that if I joined I would be a disapointment..... because I am very forgetful.... and might forget to send something..... also, does everyone know each others addresses?

  14. I do have to add here Annie that I have started a good mail list for personal contacts as well. I know women who are struggling and so when I go prepping for good mail, I prep for them as well. I love this concept!

  15. Dedee- I am so glad you are branching out as well and especially reaching out to women how need some support. When I close my Good Mail blog to new members, maybe I can refer them to you, if that is okay.

  16. Mom2princess-
Good Mail Girls is a list of names and addresses that I have collected from women from all over the blogosphere who want to reach out to each other through snail mail. We send each other cards, little goodies, recipes, feathers, whatever.
The idea behind Good Mail is keeping thoughtfulness alive through the mail. For me it's kinda like having my childhood penpal back, except I have 50 instead of one! There are no rules or quotas. It's about fun and thoughtfulness.

Since you are my cousin, you are an automatic-in if you want. E-mail me if you want to know more.

  17. At first I was overwhelmed by all the stuff I got around my birthday. I know that sounds weird, but I understand that this is a reciprocal venture and I fretted about postage costs. I almost dropped out. But now things have settled down and I'm super happy with my 1-2 card a week pace.

So, to you newbies, be warned, the Good Mail Girls really pay up at birthday time.
