Is your office chair country and cute, but only comfortable enough to comment on two or three blogs a sitting? An office chair like this might inspire posts about recipes, gardening, and thrift store shopping.
Is your office chair retro-cool and functional with a little light padding to visit everyone on your bloglines in one sitting? Does it's funkiness inspire clever posts? The blogger in this chair might manifest posts about obscure independent movie reviews and computer drafting.
I imagine Elizabeth W. blogging in this chair. Her fingers pressed together, her hands held to her chin, slowly rocking back and forth as she analyzes each bloggers posts. The padded armrests are in the way as she types a comment on my blog, "Annie, tell me about how you felt when you were dumped by your boyfriend because he didn't like your Judy Tenuta impression."
This is my actual office chair. No arm rests to allow for easy typing. Wide comfortable seat. Perfect for a quick check-in of my favorite blogs or for an all day laundry-avoiding blogging session. Pass the popcorn and Junior Mints.
I think there is a permanent impression of my derriere on my chair. What does THAT say?
ReplyDeleteMine has a nice wide seat with a tall back and armrests. Perfect for an all-day blogging event.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I should have captured that one that appeared on my sidewalk that day...maybe it WAS a sign from the blog gods.
I park my rump in one of these when using the computer, at the orders of my strict and firm physical therapist. I think it goes with what I like to think of as my condo's sleek, modern styling (if only I could find it under all the Playskool/Play-doh Chic).
ReplyDeleteWE have an awesome extra comfy leather office chair which allows me to blog hardcore. I can sit in it for hours on end.
ReplyDeletejennifer b.- That says you are a lucky lady. You have an office chair made of memory foam!
ReplyDeleteglitter-You are soo sweet to remember a comment I made on your blog weeks ago. I love you even more now.
kelly-I should have known it was recommended by a PT. Looks like a torture device...with sleek, modern styling.
Awseome- Atta Girl! Pass the popcorn and Junior Mints.
I had the idea to make an office chair exercise video, looks like someone beat me to it!
ReplyDeleteClickety!
I like the "Sit and Be Fit" lady on PBS. She's so very calming.
ReplyDeleteMy chair is very convenient. I can fold it up and take it with me, allowing me to blog anywhere I go.
TMM= Totally Mobile Millie!
ReplyDeleteI have a chair just like your's Annie, only black. When I am not using it, my kids like to spin around on it till they make themselves sick. As long as they don't throw up on the chair I'm good.
ReplyDeleteps. I just blogged about you. Thanks a lot. ;)
Mine looks a lot like yours. On wheels, reclining, comfy. I couldn't sit in a wooden chair. My butt would go numb.
ReplyDeleteMy chair says "Gosh, she's cheap" ;)
ReplyDeleteMy chair looks similar to yours except it is leather. Very comfy and I can easily sit in it for hours and blog on and on and on....
ReplyDeleteMe thinks you are talking exactly about me with the first chair. It looks precisely like my blogging chair, only mine has no lift or spin (hahaha!) And I tend to blog about recipes, gardening and thrift store shopping.
ReplyDeleteWanna try some of my popcorn with piquin pepper and lemon? You see, I'm Mexi.
ReplyDeleteThat chair bellydance wants to bring out the goddess in me. Interesting.
My chair has arm rests, because when I fall asleep, exhausted, after hours and hours of computering and gadgetring, something has to catch me.
That is exactly the chair I imagine ElizabethW in. ha ha!
ReplyDeleteWe don't really have an office chair. We just sit in a cool chair my hubby built. It is too fancy for the desk, though. I have my eye on a wood/leather chair at Sams.
I'm in a black folding chair...a Walmart special.
ReplyDeleteI'm going shopping this weekend!
MY chair is a big man's chair from the fruita MALL it already had a tilt to the right side when I acquired it. I can sit for hours in it with my feet up on the wall.
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed Jennifer B, I just realized that I can't even spell dairy-air.
ReplyDeleteMine is a petite secretary's office chair with magenta upholstery and dog hair. What does that say about me?
ReplyDeleteMine is a black leather manager's chair with arms, a lot of padding and a nice tilt range. It says someone managerial sits here, and yet, I can't seem to manage my time because I keep getting sucked into the blogosphere instead.
ReplyDeleteWhat I need is a chair that is designed to work (without discomfort) my abs and rear while I blog.
I wonder how comfy Dwight's bouncy ball (before Jim popped it) was?
ReplyDeleteWhat does his chair say about him?
I'm just wondering if you're okay? Are you okay Annie?
ReplyDeleteAnd this is one reason why I totally LOVE my laptop! My blogging seat of choice is my sofa. Pillows stacked behind my back, my feet propped up and crossed at the ankles. Pedicured toenails waving happily. It's a recipe for the perfect blogging paradise!
ReplyDeleteI love your blogging chair! I sit on the couch to blog on my laptop. Wonder what that says about me besides that I'm a couch potato? I used to have a chair just like yours and thought it super cozy!
ReplyDeletelovely post. i always think about how this chair is my favorite one in the house. for some, odd reason it is where i feel most comfortable. i don't know if it's because it really is comfortable or i just love my computer and my blog buddies so much that it emotes comfort. who knows. but my chair is a white plastic contemporary chair from ikea. i love it. i would link it but i can't find it online.
ReplyDeleteand ncs reminded me of a big silver exercise ball like dwight's that my friend lydia gave me for sitting on at my desk. and even though it is SUPPOSED to work your abs and butt, it's just too darn much work. oh and it's too high so it's like i'm lording over my computer.
ReplyDeleteMy chair is green with gray accents! That is right ladies...has accents! It is pretty cushy...has some hydrolics...Got it from some business....going out of business. I do have the ball chair downstairs...it sits in it's own little chair cavity thing....I do not bounce like Dwight...at least not AS much...it is sort of fun, to bounce like Dwight....
ReplyDeleteHoly Hannah!!! I missed the part about me, and just saw Wendy's comment.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'm gonna have to take some pics of my office now. That chair is wayy to powerful for me. And I don't like leather--it sticks to the back of my thighs when I'm wearing my hotpants to the office.
I'm offended.
Payney, do I come off as a total smart-a--?
At home we have two office chairs, one with arms, one without. They're very standard issue roll-y swively fabricy. Shazzy bought them.
Oh no! Don't be offended. I write about you because I love you. I don't think you are a total smart a**. I think you are totally smart. I find your job fascinating and love it when you write posts about it. I was trying to honor you, not make fun of you.
ReplyDeleteI'm just teasing you. :) But I do worry that I come off as bossy, as you'll see in my response to your sleeping issue :D
ReplyDeleteI roost upon a wooden rocking chair that features an extra wide seat for my own extra wide seat. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I've accidentally rocked the chair over all my toes. Truly, I ROCK!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I do exercise while I sit blogging. My favorite workout is called the 'Saddlebag Cinch' where you tighten and release your butt cheeks thus firming and shaping them. Idle butt cheeks are the Devil's tool, you know.
My chair definately is my own bum. I sit on either my bed, or my bedroom floor with my laptop on my lap and blog away. Unfortunately I can sit for long periods of time...which means lots of wasted time hehe.
ReplyDeleteMine looks like yours, only blue and has arms.....I love it, it loves me.
ReplyDeleteThe most important thing is that you have a good quality Ergonomic Office Chair no matter how much or little time you spend in front of the screen
