Mail and More

Goodness Gracious Good Mail!

My mailbox has been really happy lately. I have been a little behind in posting what I have recieved. If you sent me something and you don't see it here, don't be mad and dump me. I love you all! Thank you Lianne, Catherine, Aubrey, Kelly, Heffalump, Elizabeth W, Jeannie (she has a new blog, show her some love), Amber, and Christi!

It's never too late to be added to the Good Mail Girls Address blog. It is a private blog, so only those participating will see your information. Just e-mail me your snail mail and your birthday and it won't be long until your mailbox is as happy as mine! Thanks Girls!

Mini Me has a dentist appt. today, so guess what I will be doing while waiting? Yep! You guessed it. I will be writing cards for Good Mail!

A Cautionary Tale

Per your request I am going to dole out a little fashion advice today. I am going to caution you on buying the babydoll style tops, like this one shown from T♥rget! I bought a top very similar to this last week. I saw it and thought, "It looks light and breezy, it looks like it can go with a lot of my things...it looks like I'm pregnant!"

This is a very hard style to pull off. It can be cute and flattering if you get the right cut. Please, oh please, try them on before you buy. This is the second time this season I have just pulled my size off the rack and bought it. Once I got it home and put it on, it looked like maternity wear.

  1. Ah... the baby doll cut is PERFECT for me... why? Because I have no chest. So it hangs straight down my body leaving no room for anyone to think I'm pregnant. That is the ONLY good thing about being totally and completely flat. (don't believe me? the last bra I bought was size NEARLY A...)

  2. Yes! I have done the very same unfortunate thing. I found two absolutely adorable t-shirt style baby doll shirts and, without trying them on, bought both! Got home, put them on, and vwalla! I am suddenly 6 months along!!!

  3. I am the tiniest little bit sad that my good mail doesn't appear on your list.

But I'm glad that others are sending it to you too!

  4. That's some fancy and stylish Good Mail.

Fashionista tried a babydoll top yesterday at pacsun, it looked really cute on the hanger, when se put it on it made her look like she had the weirdest shape on earth.
One should always try an item before buying it. Men are the only ones who get to buy clothes just by the size. Go figure.

  5. I love the look of the baby doll shirts, but I just don't have the figure right now to pull them off. At all. Maybe I should get pregnant then I could wear them! ;)

  6. Lianne- I knew it! I knew it! I knew it!
I knew there was someone I was forgetting, hence the disclaimer. When I get back from our appointment, I am posting the picture of your Good Mail. Let me know if I can put your address on the "official" list. I know there are some ladies out there who would love to shower you with Good Mail!

  7. I bought one at K0hl's the other day and tried it on and thought, hmm... it makes me look pregnant! And I am pregnant! But it makes me look really pregnant! Oh well. At least I can be wearing something fashionable. ;o)

  8. and if you have bad posture, like me, no matter if you're prego or not, you'll definitely, without a doubt, LOOK pregnant. it's very unfortunate.

  10. Modern fashions simply can't be trusted.

  11. I think the secret to the baby doll is if its slightly A line on the bottom actually. You would think this would make the preggo-thing worse, but oddly it usually doesn't. If it floats gently away from the body (quoting Stacy and Clinton) it makes the body appear smaller.

Now people who actually know me are thinking "HER? She knows anything about cut and fashion???"

  12. Personally, I happen to like the comforting cut and stretchy feel of my maternity pants and shorts. What??!!?? I'm only 4 years post birth.

  13. I tried a few of those shirts on last week at the Gap and I swear they all should have been for sale in Motherhood. Do any babydoll styles really work?

  14. Ordinary- It's very difficult to find one that flatters. My first suggestion again is try before you buy.

My second suggestion is to find one that doesn't have gathered material right under the breast. It's that extra material right there, where most women are the skinniest, that makes it look so maternity.

  15. Most every shirt makes me look pregnant. Thats because I am fat. I used to hate it when people would ask me when I am due, then I suddenly began to take a strange pleasure in the shocked look on their faces when I told them with a deadly serious voice that I was not pregnant, just fat. I like to watch them squirm. Plus if I ever have another baby people will be too afraid to ask me about it by then.
