Anniethology Lifestyle Tips, Bath Towel Edition

As an avid consumer of goods, Iam always looking out for the best quality at the best price. Even when it comes to bath towels. I have consumer tested, for a year and a half, bath towels from Bed Bath and Beyond and Walmart. My finding is that the Walmart towels have maintained their color, shape, and dry-ability just as well as the towels I paid more for at Bed Bath and Beyond.
The gray towels are mine. They are from BB&B.
I paid $10.00 per bath towel. They are the Sensation brand.
The brown, blue, and yellow towels are the kids. I bought them at Walmart. I paid $6.00 per bath towel. They are the Home Trends brand.
I have owned both sets for a year and a half. I am still happy with the quality and durability. I will concede that the BB&B towels are an inch wider, but as far as quality goes, in this case the Walmart towel meets the BB&B towel for quality and beats it in price.

  1. Very muchas gracias for doing that!
We need real life comparison shopping, but we specially need that coming from someone who is trustworthy.
I buy mine and JC P, I’ll have to give HT, Anniethology approved,

  2. With your new look, I feel surrounded by coolness. I'm jealous.

I always wondered about Wal-Mart quality stuff. Not that I expected towels from there to disintegrate upon first use, but, well, it's Wal-Mart. Maybe I'm judging on the service I receive there rather than the products.

  3. I don't know what it is, but the towel aisles of stores is like paradise for me. Is that strange?

I love this review. You are so helpful :)

And I love the new look, very chic.

  4. Ah towels...so fluffy and lovely. We still have some from our wedding although those ones are getting pretty worn out.

  5. I'm a fan of bath sheets. I love how big and fluffy they are.

And Mary, I don't think that's strange. I feel the same way wandering down the towel aisle at Target. All the pretty colors in softy materials, I think. :)

  6. Ooo...love the new look. It's so you, somehow.

I'm a bath sheet girl myself. They help me delude myself into thinking I'm skinnier than I am.

  9. I wish I could say I haven't been using the same towels since college, but I have. They were Wal Mart towels too, so they must be pretty good quality. They still have great color, haven't faded too much. That could be a bad thing though, considering that in college I didn't have the same taste in colors!

I lurv towels. Fluffy, thick towels with enough fabric softener to choke a cow.

  15. So then I'm down looking around inside the new Goodwill store that opened up close to our house when I saw it.....

A whole rack of towels hanging up on hangers. Not just towels, but used towels. Leopard print used towels with matching used washcloths. Obviously used washcloths! :0 I said a silent prayer that I will always have enough money to buy my family NEW underwear and toweling stuff. I'd even prefer to buy dollar store towels to used at the Good will.

There are not enough EWWWWWWWWs in the world to cover how I felt when I saw that.

  16. I only buy towels big enough to wrap around my body. This is not an easy thing. When Wal Mart and Target have their end of summer beach towel clearance I stock up like there's no manana.

  17. You are so saavy!

I would have never thought Walmart could stand up to Bed Bath and Beyond challenge! I am suprised and I guess I shouldnt talk so much smack about Walmart anymore.

  18. You should try the towels at Sams Club. They are big and soft and dry well and try are less then $6.00 a bath towel. They are "fine linens" by Wamsutta 100% egyption cotton loops. They do have limited colors (white, cream, blue, green, I think one more I just can't think of ot right now)
I have had mine for 2 years.

  19. Elastic- There ought to be a law!

Lauren-More often than not, you get what you pay for at Walmart.

    Leah- A fine recommendation.

  20. I also have a great love for Target Rhapsody towels, which have stood up BETTER than my BB&Beyond towels....I might have to check out the Walmart ones...but for now, still happy with my Target collection.

  21. I'm with 'lastic. I'd pay double for a towel that holds its size, than for one that shrinks to facecloth size after the first washing.
