Proof that I am a mean mom.

I took my kids to I.H.O.P this morning for breakfast, instead of Denny's like they wanted. When I asked what the difference was they replied, "The food comes faster at Denny's." As if!

We went to the lake yesterday, but they didn't get to swim because there was lightening nearby. I promised I would take them to the pool today to make up for it. They didn't remember the promise and I didn't remind them. They played video games most of the day.

When one of my sons almost puked from picking up dog poop in the yard, I yelled out the window, "Just hold your breath! If you don't breath in, the smell won't make you gag."

I had four squares of chocolate. I ate them all and didn't share with them. When they came in the room and asked what I was eating I said, "Vitamins."

  1. Thats not mean, its funny!! I love the vitamin thing. When I was in high school working at daycares I ALWAYS had gum in my mouth. Kids would ask waht it was and I would say "medicine, want some?"

  3. Too funny. I am so mean, too.

I've never tried the vitamins line. I need to remember that!

  4. I HAVE to remember the "vitamin" thing--that's perfect! I must be a mean mom too, I'm just in denial when I label myself "a caring mom". After all, how good can chocolate be for their little growing minds and bodies?--all that sugar and stuff.

  5. Ha! Kids that forgot something!?!....there is hope yet for me--mom remember how you said we could go to the mall today, we're ready. Ugh.

  6. Ohh... you sneak chocolate too?? Here's another thing to get out of sharing... tell them that they have to eat veggies before they can have treats. Pick the one they hate the most. My kids prefer to go treatless rather than eat something green. And hey - if they did sit down and eat some asparagus, I'd be willing to share ;)

  7. You're a lying sack of crap, lady. I love the "didn't remind them so they played video games all day" thing. LOVE it. That's one of my favorite mom moves.

  8. Is holding your breathe the same as plunging your nose? Like when you were a kid and didn't like to eat something-you would plung your nose to eat it....

My daughter doesn't really care for chocolate-however if we do have it in the house(kisses or good chocolate) and I let her have a piece-what she does is licks it and then decides that she really doesn't like chocolate and gives it to her daddy (with out him knowing that she just licked it!)And of course he eats it.......

What happens when the kids want their vitamin?

  13. Yay, I'm a mean mom too! I rarely let my kids choose where to eat, I love it when they forget my promises (muahahahaha!) and I sneakily eat treats when no one is looking so IT'S ALL MINE!!! Thanks for the vitamin idea, hehe! Too bad we don't have a dog.

    I'm Lauren's mom, by the way! :)

  14. Vitamins!!! Why didn't I think of that. That is absolutely brilliant! I will be using that line. My kids may question why I am taking vitamins 25 times a day though.....

So do we get the honor of meeting you and your sister this weekend? I've come all this way and suffered so much to get here (read my blog for the sordid details) just to see you. Well and my family too I guess. ;)

  15. Oh my goodness... at least you admitted it!

We've all been there. What makes you a good mother is that you're actually aware of those selfish this moments. And we all need them! Lord knows every other zillion moments are selfless when it comes to your children!

  16. that's perfect annie. unfortunately the vitamin line doesn't work for ava. she thinks if she can smell the chocolate on my breath than vitamins must be darn good. even though it tell her "they" taste yucky.
