The Miracle Workers

I have been a fan of the show "What Not to Wear" for years. I consider Stacey and Clinton my personal friends that don't ever call me or invite me out, but I love them anyway. I have been down right amazed with some of the transformations they, along with Nick and Carmindy, have enacted. Some fashion interventions are harder than others, but this last one is a
miracle of biblical proportions! Thanks, Secret Agent Man for the great idea for a post and thank you DVR for allowing me to pause and rewind live tv so I could take these pictures.
Unrelated Post Script: My friend, Nanette, of Underachieving Mommy has celebrated the one year anniversary of her blog. I'm thinking she might be "losing faith" a little when it comes to blogging. Go show her the love and encourage this irreverant, hot, fellow mother of twins to continue!

  1. I keep waiting for them to pick me up and transform me--so far, no luck!!!

    That is quite the transformation.

  2. Wow. They are miracle workers!

I don't know why people are so resistant! Sure it's probably a little embarrassing, but seriously, someone is GIVING you $5000 to shop with for nice things and they are coaching you on how to get clothes that look good on your body, and giving you probably the best haircut and makeup job you've ever had. What is there not to love? I'd take it! (as long as they would let me shop for clothes that a mom could realistically wear)

  3. Is that the same woman? Maybe I need them to come take me for shopping spree.

  4. Yvonne- I know! Me too. I would love to meet them and go to NYC!

Mary-I hate it when people don't want Nick to cut their hair. I'm like, people, come on! Tomorrow you be able to afford Nick or even get an appointment with him! Le the man cut your hair!

Kaylyn- Amazing isn't it? She didn't need plastic surgery, just a new style and a great hair cut!

  5. ew. why is she making all those horrible faces? the finished product is lovely, though. i'm not a big fan of that show, i think they're too mean and harsh for dramatic effect.

  6. Hhmmm....she looks sort of familiar.

My seester LOVES this show. Sissy Girl and I got on a kick of watching it too. It didn't last long, though, when I realized I could totally be the next victim, er...I mean, project.

  10. My sister got me hooked on that show. Sometimes I watch it and feel like a proud mama at the end.

  11. Did you see the look on her face when they were waving the Visa card under her nose? Weird! I would be thrilled if someone give me a 5,000 shopping spree.

  12. Wow. That was an amazing transformation. That show amazes me. It also makes me realize I'm not that great a dresser...

  13. I have seen the light! And it's like a shining brilliance of fire. I'm going to burn my entire wardrobe in it.

    Praise Be!

  14. (Rings the doorbell and then just lets herself in. She pets the dog and then sits on the end of your bed and watches you blog.)

(Turns around and shares her junior mints. Turns off the computer because if Annie is here then we got ourselves a PARTY)

  15. I've been wanting to be on that show since I first saw an episode a few years ago.

    Love it.

  16. She is a great transformation. Who wouldn't say "bring it on" if they showed up at your door. Seriously....everyone needs good friends like that....right....otherwise everyone would be wandering around with their G-string grunders hanging out.

  17. I've seen that episode. They are awesome. I want to know why none of you have nominated me yet. I could seriously use a new wardrobe.

  18. Did you see Bravo's version? The guy from Project Runway? It was HORRIBLE! I couldn't even watch it. I bet Stacey and Clinton were making snarky comments to each other--if only we had THAT secret footage.
If anyone wants to nominate me for WNTW that would be fine with me--although I think they are prejudiced against women with short hair--what is Nick going to do, just give me a few highlights or something?

  19. I struggle with severe Gauchophobia. I wonder if they ever address my illness on WNTW?

  20. My favorite from that episode was when she told them that she had worn that dress to the opera & it doubled as her witch costume for Halloween...that screams that there is something wrong. Costumes should not be worn daily unless you work at a theme park!

  21. WNTW is the only show I DVR. Even though I am in love with fashion, my favorite part is the hair and makeup. I have even cried a few times when people are done, because they are so beautiful. Did anyone see the American Dog Kennel employee? A transformation to behold!
