Christmas, Anniethology Style

I believe that whenever you are decorating it is good to have a theme. Something to focus your ideas, colors, and choices. This year I wanted to have a Florentine Christmas theme, as in Florence, Italy. Here are some pictures from whence I drew my inspiration.

Somehow I needed this theme to work with what I already had in my home. I decided to go with a non-trad color of roses to blend in the furniture. That coordinated the Florentine colors with the ones that already existed in the room.
The silk roses and ornaments came from Michaels. My favorite ornaments are the heart-shaped mirror ornaments. I wish I had more. The organza scarf on the banister was purchased at Real Deals Home Decor.

My Florentine Christmas theme even filtered into the type of bedroom furniture I chose. The furniture was purchased at Ashley Furniture. The ivory down comforter is from Herbergers and the embroidered sheets were on clearance at Kohls.

"Are you kidding me? It's ridiculous. Who lives here? The Pope?!"

  8. My children may very welll need therapy later on.

"My mom never let us decorate the Christmas tree." *sniff*

I blame my own mother. She always had a pretty tree.

The kids have their own little tree that they put the ornaments they make in school on.

  9. It's very pretty. All of it.

But I'll bet you do stand on the posts of your foot board and practice your dives, smoke wacky weed, and then SAM whispers sweet "donald duck" in your ear...(Poltergeist, anyone?)

  10. Are you kidding me? It's ridiculous. Who lives here? The Annie?!

    It's beautiful! Aaaah.

I need to see more pictures of the stair railing. As you know mine is butt ugly, every year I attempt to make it look more presentable, but no luck. still uuugly.
Help Mrs Wizard, you are my only hope.

  12. Oh no!!! I had no idea that things were supposed to match. I so failed that class. ;)

So I had a crazy couple of weeks and I did get the tree up. Up but not decorated. Whilst I was at work on my late Tuesday night, my girls decorated the tree. They used ALL the ornaments. . . .
Not to leave you hanging, but I just decided that this would make a great post. Come over on Sunday to see how it turned out. . . to be continued. . .Muahahahaha

  20. I'm sitting here trying to come up with a title/theme for my house and I can't come up with a dang thing. It's sad, really.
Not quite DI, but closer to that than Ethan Allen.

  22. Fancy Annie! I'm lovin your tree. My daughter Stef and I have decided that when I have some money we're going to buy a second tree just for us to decorate super tacky. A pink frosted one to put up all the glittering disco ball ornaments we covet every time we go to Target.

The Infidel Christmas theme this year is "A Very Special Super Glue Christmas." Almost all my decorations have been broken by my kids at one point or another.

  23. You know what else? The first release from Blake Lewis' new CD due out today blows chunks. I'm ranking it as one of the crappiest songs of 2007. Who decided to release that first??!?

I know you're a Blake fan. And I know that you really desperately care what I think about his new single. :)

  25. So beautiful! Have you ever been to Italy? It certainly looks like it! And do you buy new bedroom furniture every Christmas to go with your decor? (j/k) Pop on over to my place to see my husband's idea of decorating (fun, but not NEARLY as tasteful as yours!!)
