Annie on Idol: Part 1

Welcome to the first of many installments of Annie on Idol. I am a faithful and avid fan of American Idol. I declare my blog to be an "All Idol, All the Time" Zone. Feel free to leave comments about American Idol, no matter what the current topic of the post may be.

I can't get Temptress out of my head. She shouldn't have been on Idol. She needs to be on Oprah. I love Paula, but her hugs aren't magic like Mother Oprah's. A hug from Mother Oprah would make everything in Temptresses life turn to pure gold.

Speaking of Paula, she was unusually lucid. I dare say, even brillant. When she had the guy in the Princess Lea bikini leave to get his chest waxed before they would listen to him sing, that was genius! It was painless for him to show up in costume and make a fool of himself to get on TV, so I loved how Paula called his bluff and made him pay with his chest hair and I'm sure a few layers of dermis to earn his 14.5 minuts of fame.

Okay. And that blonde with the glitter eye shadow and potty mouth; Here is warning to all mothers out there. This is what happens when you put your kids to bed every night with a swig of NyQuil. I'm just sayin'.

  1. Temptress: She was sweet and how sad, but who names a baby girl Temptress?

Glitter girl: "Take it! Take it! Take it!" What was that all about? "I'm going to go into actressing..." sigh.

Oh, and the "dork" girl. She was bitter wasn't she?

Any bets that last girl who was blonde and hadn't ever seen a rated R movie is LDS?

I admit I watched last night, alone! Hubby went to bed early (as if you need extra sleep when you wake up at 5 a.m.!)

  2. I thought the same thing about Paula. Did she hit rehab over the summer?

TempTress almost made me cry, did you see that pout? Awwww....

    And the Moses guy...poor thing.

Then there was Mr Bee Gee's, did you get my text?

  3. I didn't watch it, but "Temptress"? Come the flip on.

People of America, stop naming your girls slutbag names. AND feeding them NyQuil. (I'm just sayin.)

  4. Hooray Mary! Good to see you.

I know! Right?! Was the last girl speaking Mormonese or what? Trying to rally the vote already. Well, if she is gonna get my vote, she's gonna have to invest in a moisturizing conditioner. I'm just sayin'.

B.- I know! When I saw Temptress, I'm like, "Where's the toll-free number where we can make our donations?!"

Millie- (Gasp!) You didn't watch! What kind of American are you? Don't you know that more Americans vote for Idol and vote for the President?

  5. "Take it! Take it! Take it!"

That's not the last we have heard of that quote.

  7. I'm sorry Annie, I HATE Am. Idol!! I can not believe that people are so full of themselves that they would actually get on there and show the world how idiotic they really are. Please tell me they don't really think that they have got what it takes!! And to think--those people drive cars and produce offspring!! We really need some chlorine in the gene pool!!

Sorry, no I did not watch. I was forced, however, to listen while the rest of the family hid their faces in their hands and yelled, "Make it stop!!".

I would just as soon keep my will to live.

  8. "...chlorine in the gene pool."

    That's hilarious!

  9. It always amazes me that these people think they can sing... and their friends and family think they can sing. I had no idea the world was full of so many tone deaf people! That last girl who sang... if she's not Mormon, she will be soon... people who are that Mormon-ish get found sooner or later :)

  10. I have never watched American Idol until last night, its very entertaining; Simon wasn't nearly as rude as I expected. I did feel sorry for the "dork" girl, she obviously has some issues.

  11. I'm new to your site and enjoy your sense of humor:

I agree with everything everyone has said. However, I would like to add about 'Glitter Girl'-- Does everyone agree that Simon wasn't very mean to her? I thought he was quite nice when he said she wasn't right for this competition. The chick was looking for ANYTHING to rant and rave about. Quite unstable in my opinion....

  12. Let my PeeeopLLLLLe Go!

Aww, I just loved Mr Sexy Face who want to meet a woman he'll love from woman he will love "from hair to nippl3."

I love this post so much Annie, I knew this morning I'd have an Annie-Idol post of joy.

  13. Temptress (Sheeeeesh some people) slow-mo going from serious to pouting to crying was the most heartbreaking/funniest thing I have ever seen.

No, I didn't laugh, but admit it, it was funny and sad at the same time.

  14. Can you imagine looking down at your sweet newborn baby girl and saying "welcome to the world little Temptress"? Did anyone else get the feeling that her mother knew she wasn't going to make it? She said a couple of things about thinking Temptress should be worried about other things and how she would love her "no matter what happens".

I agree with Michelle, Simon was really easy on the glitter girl. She was pretty calm as she left the room, so what got her all worked up into a frenzy?

Also, and this is probably over-thinking the whole thing, but how do they get the people who didn't make it to agree to those little personal stories where they get footage of them in their day-to-day life? Are they thinking "I've already been humiliated on camera, why not extend it a little?" I guess that just goes to show that they weren't very stable to begin with....

  15. NCS - hahaha! I forgot about Mr. Sexy Face and his woman he will love "from hair to nippl3." hahahaha

  16. I feel sorry for that sweet little Egyptian guy. I think someone fed him that word from off camera. I think he was trying to say that he wants to love a woman from the top of her head to her toes and when he couldn't come up with "toes" someone off camera said "nippl3". I'm just sayin'.

  17. For some crazy reason (can't have anything to do with our rabbit ears) our fox channel wasn't working last night. [pauses to wipe away tears] I'll have to see if I can watch it on-line. Thanks for the play-by-play.

  18. It is taped, but now I'm extra excited to go watch it!

  19. The glitter chick had me rolling. I liked how she said she was going to do "actressing" now.

  20. NCS- Mr. Sexy-face was my favorite too. Was he for real? I think he was doing a Borat impersonation.

I think it's interesting how sweet these people are before the auditions. Then when they don't make it they turn into bird-flipping lunatics.

  21. Why did they say no to that little cutie who has never kissed a girl? What's wrong with that? They treated him like he was some sort of a freak. Like he was more of a freak than the freak who carrying around a baggy of fingernail clippings.

  22. Hey, at least Temptress didn't get the name "Idol" like the poor kid who was born in line at the auditions in Dallas!

Annie, for delcaring your blog "All Idol, All The Time" you and I "are brothers...'till the end!" I'll send you a Simon hat asap.

  23. Okay, I missed last night because of churchy obligations but on Tuesday night.....WHOA MAMA!

I'd like to know why the grandparents of Little Miss Gap-Toothed Princess Leia at the end didn't tell her she dressed like a freak and she might have a chance if she just went as a normal run-of-the-mill singer. And why the grandpa didn't smack her mouth when she trotted out the vulgarities/obscenities on camera.

What is this country coming to if we can't count on Grandpa to stop the potty mouths on our young generations?

  24. I loved Mr. Bee Gees. He was just so sweet and unassuming and of a good moral fiber. I'm beginning to want to import people like him to save our country.

  25. I pretend to care about the back stories. But really I don't most of the time. With the exception of the disabled little girl. That was heartbreaking.

I thought Alexis sounded like a fantastic Grace Slick/Janis Joplin. She really wasn't horrible at all. I'm afraid she's skanking out on crystal meth though because no 23 year old looks that old and rough naturally.

  26. Temptress and her sisters Vixen, Seductress, and LaQuinta. :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. Maybe some day I will actually watch that show!

    ReplyDelete
  28. The first part of American Idol is all I watch. I love seeing the crazy people and bad singers get torn down by the judges. Does that make me a bad person?

Temptress- I can't get over that name. Did her mom really want her to grow up to be a striper or porn star?

  29. Best part of Wednesday night's show was Paula and her choreography of We are Brothers Forever

  30. Is is just me or is Simon a lot nicer this year?

  31. Special Dedication to you on my blog...

  32. What about that creepy stalker guy who wrote the song for Paula? That was really weird! Can anyone say restraining order???

And they were ALL very sweet to Temptress--even Simon.
