Just one of thousands.
My plan was a total wash. We stood in line just.like.everyone.else. After an hour of inching our way up to Security, they decided to close up shop and just let us all in, sans bag check and metal detectoring.
See the little red dot in the middle of the picture? That is her! That's as close as we got.
The snazzy outfits didn't score us V.I.P seats, but we sure had a good time anyway.
Had I not seen Sarah Palin in Denver last month with Voices Carrie and El Jefe, I would have been pretty disappointed in how tonight panned out. See how close we were at the Denver rally? (above)
Conservatism is alive and well in small town America. "Sarah! Sarah! Sarah!"
You shouldn't have covered up your Palin 08 shirt. That was the ticket to getting up close. I'm just sure it was.
ReplyDeleteAlthough, you make the Den mom outfit look good.
Annie- did y ou see that I was FIRSTEST!!! I been waitin' all day to hear. . .er. . . read your report.
ReplyDeleteSorry it didn't work out how you planned! At least you have memories...
ReplyDeleteSorry.
ReplyDeleteAwww man!
ReplyDeleteI was 100% expecting your plan to work. I'm truly a little bummed, and your magic luster is has a bit of shine. I'm serious. I totally expected it to work!!
You're so cute....I mean really really cute!
ReplyDeleteI admire your dedication and passion!
You were waaaaaay closer than I was. ;)
ReplyDeleteWhy do you make that shirt look cool?
Love the bangs and glasses! Just those should have got you on stage.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, you look gorgeous! And look at those handsome boys. Niiice.
ReplyDeleteSecond, Sarah! Sarah!!
You must have came home late. We hung around Grandma's until 8:30 to hear what happened and you never showed. So, did your boys have a good time?
ReplyDeleteBummer...but glad you had fun!
ReplyDeleteWhat you should have done is worn your Sarah Palin lookalike outfit and hired some guys with suits and walkie-talkie earpieces to follow you around. Maybe you could have gotten closer to the podium!
Hey Heffalump has a good idea there. You could pull it off if anyone could.
ReplyDeleteYou and the boys looked SOOO snazzy! If only they'd caught a glimpse of you...
ReplyDeleteI would love to have heard her, but GJ is a little far to drive on a Monday night. I love that she didn't abort her little boy because I also have a little boy with DS.
ReplyDeleteMcCain will be in Durango (the closest town to where I live) on Friday night. He'll be at our high school. I'm hoping to see him.
My sister got to see her in Indianapolis... and since we're related I say that I have a small connection to Sarah. Also, Sarah went to University of Idaho. I live in Idaho and I visited Moscow once. That's another connection. Other than that, I don't think Sarah will come here before the election. You're very lucky to have been in her presence TWICE!!!
ReplyDeleteI was so hoping your idea would work! But it looks like a great time was had by all anyway.
ReplyDeleteI mentioned you on my new private blog(I drove past your town last month)... did you get my invite? If not, send me an email to: thornytreelady @ gmail . com (with no spaces, obviously).
Love your blog! Sorry you didn't get closer. I saw her yesterday here in Reno, and the event started at 8:30 am, so it wasn't a mad house. After her speech was over, she signed autographs, and a mosh pit was quickly formed. My friend squished through with our tickets, and she actually got them signed! It was a miracle.
ReplyDeleteSarah ripped Biden really well, which was awesome, and she had Piper with her. I made a little video of Piper that I put up yesterday, but haven't posted about the rest yet. Glad you could see her again. I love your unabashed/takenoprisoners love of conservatism!
You guys look totally awesome! I am sorry your plan didn't turn out right...but at least you had fun :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the video clip. Now I have been as close as I will ever get. Think it was awesome that you went. Sorry you did not get closer. I think you could be her double. You really look a lot like her. What are you dressing up as for Halloween? You should dress up a Her, then go trick or treating.
