Would you rather give up your cell phone or cable TV with DVR?

  1. Since I don't have DVR, I guess I could do without that. But definitely not the cellphone.

  2. Same here, I don't have a DVR and am happily living with out it. I think I could pretty easily give up my cell phone too if I did not want it around for emergencies.

  3. Hmmm...I don't have cable, OR a DVR. So they would be pretty easy to give up!

  4. I already made this decision and gave up the satellite with dvr...television viewing is just no good any more. I am not even kidding. Not hardly worth it.

(I'm not so sure that a decrease in TV time is a bad thing)

  5. Cell phone. I really only like to have it for safety reasons.

Right now being kind of homeless, I'm having serious withdrawals not having my DVR. I'm very grateful for the tv stations that put full episodes online.

  6. We don't have a DVR, either. But we do have cable. I'd still give up cable before the cell phone. If I have the phone I can at least call you for regular entertainment, right? Am I right, people?

  8. I'd have to go with the TV with DVR. I need my phone all.the.time.

There isn't anything that good on TV anyway.

  9. I don't have cable tv. Only 2 channels for the past 18 months. So, I'll give that up. I'm not going anywhere without my cell phone. Gotta run, I have a text. lol.

  10. I haven't had a cell phone for near 3 years now. I am alive. DVR I could easily give up. But cable would bring my fangs out.

  11. that is easy the cable TV with DVR. Since we don't have either one right now. I don't know what I am missing if anything at all.

  12. YAY!! ;)
Ok, after much thinking i'd give up my DVR :(

Do I have to? What do I win?

  13. This is the sickest question that anyone has ever asked.

  14. My wife and I were looking for ways to cut back about four years ago. We evaluated our TV viewing and discovered that 85% of what we watched was on local channels. We cancelled and don't miss it at all.

In fact, we rarely watch any television now. The three debates and a little bit of the Olympics are all I've seen on TV this year.

  15. We don't have cable, let alone DVR so that's an easy question. The cell phone I could give up too if I had a land line. Land lines cost almost the same as one cell phone here so I could do either (no calls during dinner, meetings, etc...yes!) but the cell phone just has the convenience factor.

  16. My 1st thought was to say the cell phone because I love my dvr and tv with Sei working nite shift. But now that I think about it, I think I could handle just local channels, although most of the shows I watch aren't on local channels. But whatev.
My cell phone makes me feel safe and I like knowing my kids can reach me anywhere, anytime.

  18. well I did live without dvr for 2 months after having it for 3 years, and it was greatly missed, but for safety I do like having my cell phone. But being in school, I'd study more without the DVR, and I rarely talk on the phone, so it's a tossup. If I really, really had to decide, I'd forgo the DVR.

  19. As I read the other comments, I kept waffling... tough call, really! But after much thought, I realized that I can watch most of my favorite shows on basic channels and the internet, so I'd probably give up the DVR. I'm not addicted to my cell phone, but it's such an important thing for safety, that I don't know if I could give it up!

  20. Definately the cable...because I never had it growing up. Until they decided to get cable a month before I got married. Psh.

  21. I could easily give up cable. I currently have a dish...no DVR but could give that up too. Not the cell phone though...that is a keeper.

  22. I'd rather give up my cable, any day.

  23. Cable/DVR because I waste a lot of time using it. And I can have real people contact with my cell phone. Plus my teen keeps in contact with me throughout the day with texting. I love that.

  24. Cable TV/DVR because we don't have it now. But our cell phone is the only phone. 2 of them replaced the landline at a lower cost so that's a keeper as I can't see going without a phone at all.

  25. Cable TV with DVR. All.the.way.

    No question really.

As long as I can keep my Direct TV without DVR.

    I know, I'm so 2001 technology.

    It's a curse and a blessing. A blessing and a curse.

  26. Would be no problem to give up my cell phone.

  27. I HATE our cable! They promised us that with our bundling plan it would only add $30 a month to our bill, but it added nearly $65! No one will fix the problem, and if we cancel we get to pay a $320 fee...GRRRRR!!!

I'll keep the cell phone, thankyouverymuch.
