This was such a joy, honestly, a joy for me to make. Not only did I make use of a much appreciated, but under used vase, I also got to spray paint! I am a little addicted to black spray paint. I will show you more evidence of that later.
In case we are not friends on Facebook (yet) and you haven't seen my outdoor Easter Egg Tree, here it is! Say "hello" to our little birdie mascot, too (We are into birdie mascots at the House of Payne). He/She has no name, yet. I'm taking suggestions.
Later that day....more fun with black eggs and old vases.
I decorated the eggs with colored chalk and used friendly-to-the-environment shredded paper instead of plastic Easter grass.
Santa is a liar. He never brought me the new camera he promised me. I'm not satisfied with the pictures:(
ReplyDeleteLook at you doing crafts!! Our momma would be so proud!!!
ReplyDeleteLuvlee! How 'bout Pinky Tuscaderro for the mascot?
ReplyDeleteThat's cool and creative. If I was creative I'd copy you;)
ReplyDeleteGee, I felt pretty good just dyeing eggs.
ReplyDeleteYou and Carrot both seem to have an inhalant problem...do we need to do an intervention?
Black and White...Lauren will be proud!
Hmmm...don't know what I think of black eggs, very striking, symbolism be dammed, I like it! Especially the ones in the wrought iron vase. Now don't you feel better knowing I approve? I'm coming to find you on face book.
ReplyDeleteWhat I like about your easter decorations is that they look very affordable and easy to do and look great!
ReplyDeleteoooooooh..I am really liking your spray painting craftiness!! Are the eggs in the vase spray painted, too? And you can write on them with chalk? Or is it special spray paint? I was planning to spray paint a small table. I need something for my front entry. Maybe I will make an egg tree, too!
ReplyDeleteWait a sec. I just saw my pic on the side over there. Shucks. You are very sweet!! :)
ReplyDeleteI love your eggs!
ReplyDeleteHmm,that doesn't sound right.
Thorny - I love the name!
ReplyDeleteAnyone one else?
Mikelene - It's just regular old spray paint. I would recommend spraying it with poly when you are done so the chalk doesn't smear.
ReplyDeleteStacey - It's not the first time, nor will it be the last that I have been complimented on my "eggs."
ReplyDeleteyou know i don't decorate much for Easter.
ReplyDeletehonesty, i don't decorate at all for Easter.
but these eggs in black are tempting.
hmmm...maybe next year.
i'm just watching AI on the dvr but have already read you facebook play by play,, almost as much as the real thing.
and lastly, before i leave, i must tell you how i love that cute pic on your side bar of my most favorite gal and guy.
Pedaling - Seriously, this was so easy. It took me no time at all and I bet you already have plastic eggs and spray paint just laying around your house. Betcha gotta branch in the backyard, too. The chalk my be under your 10 year-olds bed. Or maybe not, she looks pretty clean. Not like my 10 year-old twinners.
ReplyDeleteIt's my pleasure to have your fav gal and guy on my revolving door of bloggerliciousness.
I think somebody needs to post a tutorial. What's in the middle of the black eggs? How'd you get the ribbon on there?
ReplyDeleteThis is why I need a better camera. It's all in the details.
ReplyDeleteThe eggs are wrapped and hung by black and white gingham ribbon. I gluegunned it on.
Those aren't little eggs in the vase they are rocks that I painted.
Santa, you totally stink. I held up my end of the deal! What the heck happened to you?!
I L-O-V-E the white spray painted branch. Reminds me of the time my father-in-law spray painted branches and hung lights on them for our wedding reception. Mmmeeemorrrries, like the corner of my mind.....
ReplyDeleteLauren approves! I am in love. I think I need to go to Hobby Lobby to make one of my own!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute idea!! Super cute!
ReplyDeletethis is sooooooo cute
ReplyDeleteYou are so clever and crafty! I'm jealous! They are adorable
ReplyDeleteIt all looks just FABULOUS! :)
ReplyDeleteokay- I would have never thought of it- but the black and white eggs are so awesome! and fabulous reuse of the hanging vase-
ReplyDeleteYou are so cute. Look at all the cute things you made!
