mart enough to 1. Not to loan anyone money and 2. I always get it in writing. I also had enough sense to not "play house" with someone I wasn't married to. So many of the cases are about these pathetic women who make car payments or buy gold chains for their boyfriends and then when things go bad and/or they find out that he has another babymama, they want their money back. Suckers. I think they got what's coming to them for "giving it up" so easily. As much as I enjoy my superiority complex, I only watch it with Secret Agent Man and we only watch People's Court with Judge Marilyn Milian. We love her signature line, "Lo barato sale caro." Translation: Cheap things turn out expensive. Ain't it the truth, sistah?!
een on a super secret mission to Singapore with Secret Agent Man. I don't know what he did while we were there, but I spent a good portion of our week-long trip crying in my hotel room. It was the first time I had been that far from my babies for that long. I couldn't stand the fact that if they needed me, I was 24 hours away. Waaaaaaaah! It's a beautiful island country. The subway is super clean and modern. After using the underground transporation in Singapore, the New York subway system was horror to behold. Our last night we had wonderful Asian meal at the Clark Quay promenade. (pictured)
where all the repressed Mormon housewives go to relax. Seven days, six nights on the big island, just S.A.M and I. The kids are staying home with their repressed Mormon grandma. That's the great family tradition. My parents went to Hawaii three times while we were growing up and never took us kids. So, we, in turn, are leaving our kids behind, also. Don't worry, we will bring them home the customary souveniers of sugar cane, grass skirts, and shell necklaces. Thanks Anne, this was a lot of fun! Now, I guess, I have to tag some people. Hmmm... Glittersmama, Nancyface, and Aubrey, your turn. If you have done this recently, guess what, you get to do it again:)

It's gonna be a good Year of the Rat!
My blog needs a theme song and I need some ideas. I have seens some blogs that are not only a pleasure to read, but a pleasure to listen to also. Here are some of my favs:
A friend of mine is going through a really rough time. She is an amazingly hard-working woman, who is not prone to whining, and has been there for me more times than I can count.

Welcome to the first of many installments of Annie on Idol. I am a faithful and avid fan of American Idol. I declare my blog to be an "All Idol, All the Time" Zone. Feel free to leave comments about American Idol, no matter what the current topic of the post may be.
Have you ever had a task to complete, but you just couldn't bring yourself to do it? You have the time, you have the energy, but the more you look at it, the more insurmountable the task becomes. That was me with the Christmas decorations.
I sent the kids back to school a week ago. I cleaned, I shopped, I did laundry, I even signed up for college, but I didn't take a single ornament off the Florentine-style Christmas tree. It occurred to me that this was more than a time issue. I needed help. Mental help. I needed someone to come in and help give me a jump start on the de-decorating. So, I called the best, most kind, and free mental health advocates I know: Mom and Dad.
I invited them over at 2 pm, so I needed to get prepared. I knew that with the purchase of new decorations, I would also need something to put them in. A quick trip to the local Family Dollar produced four new 30 gallon sized containers. With containers on hand, a plan in place, and help on the way, I felt energized and hopeful that this task, along with it's mental hold on me, would soon be packed up and in the garage.
I gave Mom and Dad the toughest job, the one I dreaded the most; taking down the seven-foot tree. When I wasn't micro-managing the placement of each ornament back in the same box it came in, I busied myself with the other de-decorating tasks. I'm happy to report, we made short order of it. Christmas taken down, boxed up, and in the garage in less than two hours. I have hand it to Mom and Dad, they work fast and didn't even mind my neuroticism.
They know who they raised.

...and I don't. I'm going to be spending the big 3-5 saving my family from "holiday house." Holiday house is when you still have your Christmas decorations up, food going bad in your fridge from all the holiday party food that didn't get consumed and 5 over-flowing baskets of laundry. Wet snowboots at every door, two weeks of unread newspapers stacked on your table and enough dishes piled up in your sink to run 3 dishwasher cycles. I am buried, y'all, buried. Don't feel sorry for me, though. It's been a fantastic year, I can only hope for more of the same. See ya after my kids go back to school!

I've had my passport stamped a few times, but I have never been to New York City. Secret Agent Man is currently on assignment across the river in New Jersey. He's flying me out to spend a long weekend with him in the Big Apple. I try not to get involved in his super secrety third world dictator-toppling missions, but the chance to stand under the Time Square webcam and wave hi to all my bloggy friends (More on that to come.) was too good to pass up. We also have tickets to see The Lion King the musical on Broadway. I'm glad the strike is over. I didn't anything standing in the way of me getting my hakuna matata on!
